 About the artist:  This young artist/songwriter uses her musical performance involving rap, poetry, musical lyrics, laughter,tears, dance,and her life experiences to teach and offer a positive outlook on today's young life. Imani Kairee is actively involved in community events where young people are always present.Her music is loved by audiences from 6-60 from the hood to the suburbs. Imani Kairee is the real fresh new voice the Hip Hop community has been dreaming of. THE STORY April 18, 2005 -- Imani Kairee is a fresh, young and upcoming artist/writer of this era. Her style is a unique style like no other; in fact her style is all about life seen thru this teen’s life in all aspects of the word, what she feels, how it affected her or someone she knows and her take on the situations. Her lyrics cross all-racial lines and is part poetry with a little fun added to lighten things up. Imani Kairee is a Connecticut native born and bred. Mom played heavy influences in her life as far a music. Imani first performed at the age of 5 years old on stage singing and dancing and later participated in local talent shows in elementary school. Other parents often approached Imani Kairee’s mother and commented on how talented was. When Imani Kairee turned 11 her mother heard her rhyming to music in her room and not wanting to push her own ambitions on Imani Kairee, just observed her musical development from afar. Imani Kairee always walked around with headphones on and music was a constant thing in her house. To hone her craft, Imani Kairee had written lots of songs to different beats but kept it to her self. In March 2005 Imani Kairee decided to enter a local talent show, the audience loved the music and asked if she was going to make a CD. Encouraged by friends and family she decided she wanted to make a CD in a recording studio and represent young Connecticut. Jeff Baldwin, CEO of Mega Bass Productions' in Bridgeport referred her mother to Smoke House studio. Imani Kairee’s professionalism and talent blew Smoke (Steve Isaac,) owner and CEO away. Smoke was also impressed by her organizational style and ability to lay down her tracks in one take.He often commented on how Imani Kairee was the perfect role model type that today's youth needs. He decided to work closely with young Imani Kairee and started recording with her and has proven to be a good music mentor. Imani Kairee 's was interviewed on The Inner City Groove featuring DJ EZ Mike (88.5 FM a local college station in Fairfield ,CT) who really liked her sound. DJ EZ Mike expressed that he could see she was committed to what she was doing with her music at such a young age and offered Imani Kairee a chance to co-host his show.He gave her the chance to play her new tracks. Because of good response he included Imani Kairee's music in his rotation. Imani Kairee is causing quite a noise in the music scene in CT and beyond.Various other artists/musicians have requested to work with her. She has interviewed Jive recording artist’s Chris Brown, rapper Dirt Bag, and also Rasheeda, who is currently on The Beauty Shop movie soundtrack (Starring Latifah), who both gave her advice on how to pursue her musical career.
