BROWN BAG ALLSTARS

Location: Brooklyn, NY
Genre: Hip Hop
Website / Contact Me

About the artist:  In early 2008, seven Brooklyn-based artists employed by Fat Beats New York decided to form a hip hop group. We call ourselves the Brown Bag AllStars. Since we all worked at Fat Beats, we figured we knew enough about hip hop music to make it ourselves. We have a style that listeners have called a throw back style with bangin’ beats, clever lyrics, and quality mixing. Our roster is like a 40 oz. A-Team. We've got Audible Doctor, rapper, producer, and Fat Beats manager; J57, rapper, beatsmith and assistant-manager; Koncept, rapper and serious threat on stage; Soul Khan, currently a high ranking battle-rapper in NYC [Grind Time East Division]; E Holla, dj, father, and FatBeats.com webmaster...not to mention Torae's permanent DJ/hypeman; Element, dj and also J-Live's DJ; and Goo, a dj, amazing producer and genius mixing engineer who's currently in Arizona working closely with Sha Money's team but is still a core member of the Brown Bag AllStars. We've also had some major accomplishments here are some to name a few: We won Brooklyn Bodega's "Show n Prove Competition" in June '09 beating out every upcoming hiphop artist from NYC, NJ, LA to perform in the Brooklyn HipHop Festival. Mighty Healthy clothing sponsorship 2one5 clothing sponsorship LivingProof Magazine 4 page write-up/interview (distributed in USA, Japan, Europe) Our song "Undeniable (Audible Doctor Remix) was "Track of the Month" in August '09 on HipHopDX & "Song Of The Day" on NPR.com in October '09 Our song "Got It All" was the 3rd highest ranking track on HipHopDX for weeks in July '09 Our song "Knuckle Puck" at one point reached the #1 highest ranked track on HipHopDX for a week straight in June '09 Radio shows we've been on: The Halftime Show w/ DJ Eclipse PNC Radio w/ A.King The Underground Railroad w/ Jay Smooth Coffee Breaks show with Noah (Nature Sounds Records) Solo Accomplishments: The Audible Doctor released an album in '07 called "Brownies" that recieved high praises from DJ Premier, Large Professor, Marco Polo and more. Soul Khan is a top-tier battler in the GrindTime East Coast Division and is quickly becoming one of the biggest battle-emcee's in the country. Soul Khan's racked up tens of thousands of views on Youtube and Worldstarhiphop for upper-echelon performances in GrindTime (the premiere MC battle league in the world) J57 has an instrumental album coming out this fall on Juno Award winning Canadian label; Balanced Records. E Holla is Torae's DJ. DeeJay Element is one of J-Live's DJ's. KONCEPT released his Konverses Mixtape last year, which created a small buzz for him.
